Virtual Dermatology

Personalized skin care from the privacy and convenience of home

Healthy skin changes throughout life. Breakouts may begin or return in adulthood, hormones can affect the skin, and years of sun exposure can contribute to changes in tone, texture, and appearance.

Encore Health’s virtual dermatology service connects you with a licensed physician assistant who specializes in dermatologic care and can create a treatment plan tailored to your skin, history, and goals.

Conditions we commonly evaluate

Skin concerns we can help with virtually.

Acne and Breakouts

Virtual care may be appropriate for mild to moderate acne affecting the face, chest, or back, including adult and hormone-related breakouts.

Healthy Aging and Skin Renewal

We can help build a medically guided skincare plan for common concerns related to aging and sun exposure.

Your personalized treatment plan

Treatment built around your diagnosis, history, skin type, and goals.

Depending on your diagnosis, medical history, skin type, and goals, treatment may include prescription and nonprescription skincare recommendations. Options may include topical retinoids, azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, topical antibiotics used appropriately, pigment-focused treatments, and oral medication when medically appropriate.

Not every treatment is appropriate for every patient, and prescriptions are provided only after a clinical evaluation.

When in-person care is needed

Virtual dermatology is not appropriate for every skin concern.

Changing or suspicious moles, possible skin cancer, rapidly worsening rashes, severe infections, conditions requiring a full skin examination, and concerns that may require a biopsy or procedure should be evaluated in person.

Seek urgent medical care for a severe allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, rapidly spreading redness, fever with a skin infection, blistering or peeling skin, or other urgent symptoms.

Important treatment information

Please tell your provider about pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Tell your provider if you are pregnant, may be pregnant, are trying to conceive, or are breastfeeding, because certain acne and skin-aging medications are not appropriate during pregnancy.

Services and prescriptions are available only where our providers are licensed and when clinically appropriate. Virtual dermatology does not replace routine primary care or an in-person full-body skin examination.
